For Waylon

Mentored by Country Music icon Waylon Jennings from an early age, Matthew Rothstein’s unique confluence of jazz, folk and gospel tributaries has brought recognition from the Grammy Foundation and Down Beat Magazine, and performances at the world-renowned Healdsburg Jazz Festival and South By Southwest in Austin, Texas.

With the forthcoming project, For Waylon, Rothstein presents jazz-informed renderings of timeless pieces recorded by Jennings. Each is a meditation of thanksgiving for the uncommon kindness and generosity the Legendary Outlaw showed a young and enthusiastic fan.
